October 5-6, 2013: Fall Zoo Festival
Harvest Days at the Farm-in-the-Zoo at Lincoln Park includes pumpkin decorating, fall crafts, music, animal activities and fun food.

October 10-24, 2013: Chicago International Film Festival
The Chicago International Film Festival features more than 100 short & full-length films from 50 countries, free panel discussions, and opening night gala. Films show at the AMC River East 21.

October 10-31, 2013: Haunted House at Navy Pier
The Fear Haunted House is family friendly during the day and aggressive at night. Please see schedule for dates.

October 13, 2013: Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Start time: 7:20am; Start & finish lines: Grant Park (Columbus Drive at Balbo Drive)

October 14, 2013: Columbus Day Parade
The Columbus Day Parade celebrates the historic voyage of Christopher Columbus to America and Italian-American culture. It begins at Balbo Ave. and goes north on Columbus Drive to Monroe St.

October 25-27, 2013: Chicagoween
Enjoy spooky entertainment, hayrides, trick-or-treating, and a fall farmers’ market during Chicagoween, when Daley Plaza becomes Franken Plaza.
