Hyatt Regency Chicago Welcomes Chicago-based Author

Open Books non-profitSixty-one percent of low-income households do not have a single children’s book at home. Statistics like this have helped propel Open Books as a non-profit dedicated to providing community programs and mobilizing passionate volunteers to promote literacy in Chicago and beyond.

Hyatt Regency Chicago is teaming up with the award-wining organization along with Chicago-based author Cynthea Liu to host an event promoting the importance of literature. Liu will read her book, Paris Pan Takes the Dare, and engage listeners to act out scenes in an effort to inform, engage and inspire.

Join us for the free event on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. Just be sure to bring a new or gently used book for donation to Open Books. Proceeds from the sale of these books will be used for literacy programs within the Chicagoland area and beyond. Complimentary valet parking is available for the event and Liu will be available for autographs after the presentation.
